Okay. So as some of you may or may not know, around January I had the idea that if I entered just about a bazillion giveaways on goodreads, I’d have to win at least one, right? So far, that strategy has not been working out well for me. Last night, the giveaway for one of the books I REALLY wanted, closed. Before I got logged off the computer last night, I put in my review of that book that I was going to build an altar to the goodreads gods and pray at it so I would win the book.
I didn’t win the book, but I did build the altar. :)
AND—I have pictures.
Now, keep in mind that I’m not an expert at altar-building. I have the vague idea that they are raised platforms covered in cloth (generally known as an altar-cloth) with religiously-pertinent items placed on top.
So, I had stacks of books to make the raised platform, and then used an old baby blanket as the altar-cloth.
On top, you can see on the far-left, I have placed my fourth-favorite book, the Host. That is the only one that constantly stays in place on my favorite books list. The first three constantly change depending on what I’m reading.
Then I have a number of bookmarks (I’m surprised I found so many; I always lose bookmarks). There’s also a necklace there. I put that charm on that chain in order to have a necklace like the one described in ANGEL BURN by L.A. Weatherly. There is also a little toy lamb there. It’s on its side. Cuz I sacrificed it, you know?
Then, on the far-right, we have Radiance by Alyson Noel. I bought that book and the second book, Shimmer, and I started Radiance, but I never finished it. I promised the goodreads gods I’d try to read it again if I won the giveaway (which was Possession by Deana Vuletic, in case you’re wondering)
So, yeah, I didn’t exactly get what I wanted, but putting that together was kinda fun. So.
