March Wrap-Up

Hey, I read a lot of books in March! Some of which were on my TBR!

  1. Entwined by Heather Dixon
  2. Let the Sky Fall by Shannon Messenger
  3. The Gathering, the Calling, and the Rising by Kelley Armstrong—the Gathering was a read off of my General Unread Books Shelf.
  4. The Music of the Dolphins by Karen Hesse—I sort of read this book for school. It was quasi-research for a speech I did. Also, a general reread for me.
  5. Conjured by Sarah Beth Durst—which was not as amazing as Drink, Slay, Love, but it was pretty cool.
  6. Choices by Deborah Lynn Jacobs
  7. Darkness Becomes Her, A Beautiful Evil, and A Wicked Within by Kelly Keaton—this was a read off of my Unread Series Books Shelf.
  8. Switched, Torn and Ascend by Amanda Hocking—another off of my General Unread Books Shelf.
  9. Darkness Before Dawn, Blood-Kissed Sky, and After Daybreak by J.A. London
  10. Avatar the Last Airbender the Search Trilogy by Gene Luen Yang

20 books. Four finished trilogies. Remember that Series situation post? Yeah. We’ll be adding to that. All that is in purple COUNTS TOWARDS the Jumble Your Genre's Challenge.

Series and Me (idea from Drugs Called Books) The Old and/or Obvious Ones

WAAAY back in the beginning of February, my friend Nitzan over at http://drugscalledbooks.blogspot.com/ put up a post called Series and Me: Situation Report. I thought it was an excellent idea and decided to put up a similar post of my own. But you have to understand, I read an average of 18 books a month. That’s a) a lotta books. And b) it means I’ve read a lotta series. So instead of bombing you with two HUMONGOUS lists of books on one blog post, I divided my series up into five different lists, which are still pretty hefty, but not HUMONGONORMUS, you know? And I’ve decided to do this in a series of five posts one list per post.
((also, I would like to thank Nitzan for putting together the collages that go along with these posts to make it colorful and not just still-pretty-hefty lists of books)

The first post in my five-post series of posts about series is going to be The Series Which I have Completed—the Old or Obvious Ones.

The Old or Obvious Ones means either really popular series, or series I read during or before early high school.

  1. Harry Potter By J.K. Rowling
  2. Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
  3. Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan
  4. Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
  5. Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
  6. Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis
  7. Inkheart by Cornelia Funke
  8. Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli
  9. Animorphs by K.A. Applegate- This is my favorite series of ALL TIME.
  10. Deltora Quest/Deltora Dragons/Deltora Shadowlands by Emily Rodda—this is actually three separate series, but they all have the same main characters and everything, so I listed them together.
  11. Fablehaven by Brandon Mull
  12. Song of the Lioness by Tamora Pierce
  13. The Immortals by Tamora Pierce
  14. Protector of the Small by Tamora Pierce
  15. Trickster’s by Tamora Pierce
  16. Circle of Magic by Tamora Pierce
  17. The Circle Opens by Tamora Pierce.
  18. The Dragonvarld trilogy by Margaret Weis
  19. The Windsinger Trilogy by William Nicholson
  20. Maximus Ride by James Patterson
  21. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
  22. The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare
  23. Chemical Garden by Lauren DeStefano- I didn’t really like this series very much, check out my review if you don’t believe me. http://awesomemonica.blogspot.com/2014/01/chemical-garden-by-lauren-destefano.html
  24. Delirium by Lauren Oliver
  25. Divergent by Veronica Roth
  26. Fallen by Lauren Kate
  27. Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
  28. Vampire Diaries (ONLY THE ORIGINAL FOUR) by L.J. Smith

March TBR

Going over the books I plan to read this month. If I have a specific reason for wanting to a read a book, I have provided that explanation. It there is no reason, then there’s no reason.

  1. Entwined by Heather Dixon (I’ve already read this one)
  2. Let the Sky Fall by Shannon Messenger (Already read this one as well)
  3. The Gathering, the Calling, and the Rising by Kelley Armstrong—the reason I’m reading this series is because I read and enjoyed the Darkest Powers series and this is a spinoff. Also, I own the first one, and one of my goals this year is to read at least two books I own each month.
  4. Conjured by Sarah Beth Durst—I read Drink, Slay, Love by Sarah Beth Durst back in 2012, and ever since, I’ve thought of her as one of my favorite authors. BUT I HAVEN”T READ ANYTHING BY HER SINCE! GAHH! Rectifying that this month.
  5. Choices by Deborah Lynn Jacobs—a person I met in real life recommended this book, so I’m reading it.
  6. The Originals by Cat Patrick
  7. Darkness Becomes Her, A Beautiful Evil, and A Wicked Within by Kelly Keaton—this is the series that I OWN that I’m finishing this month. One of my goals for this year is to finish a series I own each month.
  8. Switched by Amanda Hocking—I’m reading this book to complete my read-two-books-i-own-a-month goal.
  9. Cursed by Jennifer L. Armentrout

All together, that is thirteen books I’m planning to read this month (though I have Torn and Ascend, the rest of the Switched Trilogy on hold at the library, and I suppose we could count those as well)
I completely reserve the right to CHANGE THIS LIST. If, at any point during the month, I for some reason do not want to read a book on the list, or want to switch the order, or remove one book and read another in it’s place, I CAN AND WILL do that, man.
